Dundee Wheelers Cycling Club was established in 1971 through a merger of the Dundee Roads and Forfarshire clubs. Today it is the largest club in the Dundee area and enjoys a reputation for its friendliness and the welcome it gives to riders of all ages and abilities.
Although a number of members race at local and national level, others cycle for purely recreational purposes. All enjoy the unique comradeship that cycling as a group brings.
Meetings are held at 8pm every Thursday in the Morgan academy FP Rugby Club clubrooms in Alloway Terrace when club matters are discussed in an informal manner over a drink.

Club Events
The Club organises a number of events throughout the season, starting with the popular reliability run in early March, which attracts about 70 riders and covers routes of 30, 50 and 70 miles. Other time trials and APRs are held until the end of September.
There are also occasional social gatherings, such as the annual Christmas lunch and prize giving.
Club Runs
The principal run of the week leaves from the main gate of Camperdown Country Park, off Kingsway, every Saturday at 9am and is held at a fairly relaxed pace. Newcomers are welcome and it is not necessary to be a club member to participate. The usual distance is 50-75miles, depending on the season and weather, and includes a café stop.
Other less formal cycle rides are held on Sundays and public holidays.
The destinations for the rides are listed in the sports pages of The Courier newspaper every Saturday morning. They will also be shown below on the noticeboard from Friday morning.
